General medical nutrition therapy:
Pam can provide medical nutrition therapy as part of the treatment or prevention of diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, gastrointestinal concerns, and other conditions. In these scenarios, there is an initial 1 to 1.5 hour assessment of medical history, eating patterns and eating competence skills. Frequency of follow-up is determined by the individual's need.
Eating disorders:
Dietitians do not diagnose eating disorders, but can be a valuable part of a person's recovery team. As part of a team approach to treating eating disorders, Pam can work in collaboration with mental health therapists and medical providers to provide nutrition support when outpatient treatment is advised. Pam is committed to seeking professional supervision from a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist- Supervisor (CEDS-S) while seeing clients with eating disorders. This is important for supporting both patient safety and professional skill development. Eating disorder recovery can involve follow up sessions with a dietitian every 1-4 weeks for 6-12 months or more, depending on an individual's need.
Scheduling appointments:
Sessions can be held in-person at office space at the Hadley Center in Hays (suite 215, "Brick by Brick" signage) or can be via telehealth using the Simple Practice platform.
Request an appointment on the Greenleaf Nutrition Consulting client portal.
Payment:
Pam is currently an in-network provider with BCBS, Aetna, and Sunflower Health Plan (Kancare). Prior to scheduling an appointment, please verify what your insurance plan covers regarding nutrition services, as each plan varies.
Clients are responsible to pay for what insurance does not adjust or cover.
