Pam Greenleaf, MS, RDN, CDCES
Pam is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) based in Hays, KS. Pam became a dietitian following a B.S. in Dietetics at Kansas State University and supervised practice. Her early work as a dietitian involved supporting moms and families at one of Sedgwick County's WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) clinics and facilitating diabetes education through a Latino public health non-profit. She then went on to specialize in diabetes, obtaining the credential of CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator, now recognized as CDCES or Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist) at an outpatient diabetes clinic in Wichita.
Pam also holds a master's degree in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in exercise science from Fort Hays State University and a B.S. in Biblical Studies from Manhattan Christian College. She has taught nutrition courses as an adjunct faculty instructor at Fort Hays State University since 2018.
Her more recent work in the area of food peace and disordered eating has been influenced by training from the Ellyn Satter Institute. Pam's approach to nutrition assessment embraces the Satter concepts of eating competence, division of feeding responsibilities, and hierarchy of food needs. She views health through a weight neutral lens and individualizes nutrition advice according to a person's eating competence. Her perspective on the human body and food is also shaped by her personal faith in God and biblical truth about the ultimate source of peace, healing, and freedom.
Pam enjoys being active outside with biking, gardening, and spending time at parks or pools with her husband Justin and their four kids. Her own experiences, beginning as a Jr. High athlete struggling with a quest for the perfect diet and body, have led her to ongoing discovery of the incredible design and wisdom of the human body, the nourishment of food, thoughtful activity, and rest, and the joy of a relationship-rich life.
Pam's clients, students, and family inspire her to come alongside those struggling with food peace so that food and physical activity are helpful tools and not hindrances to living one's life fully.
